Laurin Lechenmayr – Voice actor

The German voice actor for Mahito from ‘The Boy and the Heron’ is coming to Anime Messe Babelsberg! We are very pleased to welcome Laurin Lechenmayr in 2025 – a young voice actor with great talent. With roles such as Dai in ‘Dragon Quest’, Shouma in ‘Penguindrum’ and Drop in ‘Goodbye, Don Glees!’, he has already won the hearts of many fans. Meet him every day at the signing sessions or experience him live at the big voice actor panel on Sunday and on Friday at ‘Synchrotalk – What comes before dubbing?’!

With his soulful voice and impressive presence, Laurin Lechenmayr is one of the most promising German voice actors of the new generation. Whether adventure, drama or mystery – Laurin gives his characters depth and emotion.

His best-known role is probably that of Mahito in the award-winning anime film ‘The Boy and the Heron’ from the legendary Studio Ghibli. As Mahito – a boy who is drawn into a mysterious parallel world at a time of great loss and upheaval – Laurin delivers an intense, moving performance that oscillates between grief, courage and self-discovery.

He is also known for his roles as:

  • Dai in ‘Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai’
  • Shouma Takakura in ‘Penguindrum’
  • Drop in ‘Goodbye, Don Glees! – Wege einer Freundschaft’
  • Leonhart in ‘Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts’

At Anime Messe Babelsberg 2025, you will have the opportunity to meet Laurin in person on all three days – at the signing sessions on Friday (11:30–12:30), Saturday (13:50–15:10) and Sunday (13:40–15:00).

A special highlight also awaits you on Friday at 12:50 p.m.: Together with dubbing director Erik Wildfang, Laurin will talk about the creation of a German version – from directing to the actual recording – in the panel ‘Synchrotalk – What comes before dubbing?’ and provide exciting insights from the perspective of a voice actor.

Of course, Laurin will also be part of the big voice actor panel on Sunday from 12:00 to 13:20, where he will be on stage with other stars from the industry.
