Mr Toshiki Kumagai voices the main character Takuto Ira in the original Japanese version of “Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra”. He will be attending the world premiere on Saturday, 5 July at 15:30 in the Grand Ballroom and will also take part in the major voice actor panel on Sunday.
Toshiki Kumagai is part of the younger generation of Japanese voice actors who were given major roles early in their careers. He began as the voice of young Simba in Disney’s “The Lion King” (Japanese dub). In the anime world, he is best known for his role as the protagonist Ohdo Yuhi in “Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!”, a character he voiced for over three years.
In “Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra”, he takes on the lead role of Takuto Ira – a boy who is reborn into a fantasy world after his death and builds a dark civilisation there. The role demands a wide emotional range, as Takuto shifts between calm strategic thinking, inner turmoil, and eerie power.
In addition to his voice acting work, Mr Kumagai is also active on stage, most recently performing in the musical “Black Butler”. At Anime Messe Babelsberg, you can experience him live – at the premiere, the international voice actor panel, and the studio’s official Q&A session.
