Key of Life - Japanese live action film

The Anime Messe Babelsberg 2025 is showing the film "Key of Life" by director Kenji Uchida in cooperation with the Japanese Cultural Institute (The Japan Foundation) and the Japanese-German Centre Berlin.

Sakurai (Masato Sakai) is a failed actor - broke, without prospects and at the end of his tether. Determined to put an end to his bleak life, he treats himself to one last bath in a public bathhouse with the last of his money. There he meets a wealthy, mysterious stranger who unfortunately slips on a bar of soap and loses consciousness. In an impulsive moment, Sakurai seizes the opportunity: he secretly swaps the locker keys and slips into the man's identity. But what seems like a way out soon turns out to be the beginning of an adventurous entanglement...
