Anime fans, heads up: THE SIXTH LIE are coming to Anime Messe Babelsberg! Electro-rock straight from Tokyo, known for anime hits like "Hibana" (Golden Kamuy) and "Shadow is the Light" (A Certain Scientific Accelerator). From 17 to 19 July, they'll perform a concert every single day with a different setlist each time, plus signing sessions. Their first time back in Germany in nearly a decade!
We're welcoming another big name from the anime music scene to Anime Messe Babelsberg 2026: THE SIXTH LIE. The electro-rock band from Tokyo has been making waves since 2015 and is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. If you watch anime, chances are you've already heard their music. They're especially well known for their contributions to acclaimed anime series. Their opening theme for A Certain Scientific Accelerator (you know, the one about Accelerator and Last Order from the Toaru universe), "Shadow is the Light", is one that fans recognise instantly. Same goes for "Hibana", the ending theme for Golden Kamuy Season 1, which hit number one on the iTunes Anime charts back in 2018. They went on to contribute "Yusetsu" as the ending for Season 3 as well.
But there's more to THE SIXTH LIE than anime songs. Their sound sits somewhere between modern electro-rock and sci-fi aesthetics. To put it in perspective: back in 2016, they opened for Slipknot at Knotfest Japan in front of 20,000 people. Yes, really. They've also performed at Japan Expo in Paris and Bangkok, Hyper Japan in London, and many more international stages. And if you're a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners fan, make sure to check out their cover of "I Really Want to Stay at Your House". Trust us on this one.
THE SIXTH LIE visited Germany once before during their European tour in 2017. Now, nearly a decade later, they're coming back. Vocalist Arata and guitarist/keyboardist Reiji will be on stage for you every day from 17 to 19 July. And here's the best part: they'll play a different setlist each day. Catch them on our indoor stage with a brilliant light show or watch them rock our massive outdoor Vulkan Arena. Of course, there'll also be daily signing sessions where you can meet them in person.
So come to the Animeland, come to Anime Messe Babelsberg in Potsdam near Berlin, and grab your tickets!
