AMV-Contest 2026
On Saturday evening at 10:50 PM, get ready for the grand AMV finale – presented by AnimeRadio.de on an even larger LED screen than ever before, creating a truly immersive experience. AMV stands for Anime Music Video: creatively edited videos based on well-known Japanese anime series, crafted by talented editors from the scene. Look forward to an emotional journey through action, romance, and drama – live on the main stage. The top entries are not only competing for fame and applause, but also for cash prizes totalling €500!
If you are an AMV editor, we would love for you to participate in our exclusive competition. It's definitely worth it! We have compiled all the necessary information for you below, and you can find the AMV competition form here. [ AMV - Registration Form ]
Prizes:
- 1st Place = 250 Euros
- 2nd Place = 150 Euros
- 3rd Place = 100 Euros
Terms of Participation:
- Participation in the competition is open worldwide. Attending Anime Messe Babelsberg is not a requirement. We grant all accepted participants free entry to Anime Messe Babelsberg on Saturday. Please send us an email if you would like to attend in person.
- The submission deadline is 03.07.2026 - [ AMV - Registration Form ]
- Exclusive Competition:
AMVs intended for the exclusive competition must not be made publicly accessible before the event. It is not permitted to upload the AMV to YouTube or other platforms prior to the event. Starting from 2025, it is mandatory to include our logo or artwork at the beginning of the AMV, though the exact design is up to you.
- You can submit multiple videos for the exclusive competition. If multiple videos are submitted, their content must not overlap (e.g., using the same anime).
- For each submission, you must provide proof that you are the creator of the submitted video. Possible proof would be, for example, a screenshot of the timeline from your video editing software. Unfortunately, we will have to reject your submission without proof.
- The submitted videos must feature themes related to Japanese anime, video games, or cosplay. Videos that glorify violence or contain extreme erotic content may be excluded from the competition on a case-by-case basis.
- Submissions containing potential health triggers (especially strong strobe and flashing effects that would require an epilepsy warning) are not permitted.
- The submitted videos must be of high visual and audio quality. They must not be shorter than one minute or longer than seven minutes.
- The submitted videos must be in landscape format.
- Please ensure that your video can be played with the standard VLC player and does not exceed 2 GB in size.
- You can submit your videos via Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or similar providers. Please test in advance in a private browser window to ensure the link has been properly shared. Please do not use services like WeTransfer or other providers where files are automatically deleted or require a subscription for fast downloading.
- By participating in the exclusive or free competition, you grant us the right to use your videos at our events.
- We reserve the right to reject a submission on a case-by-case basis without giving reasons if we deem it necessary.
Judging:
- The judging will be carried out by a jury composed of the Anime Messe Babelsberg team, which will make an initial selection for the audience.
- The formal acceptance of a submission does not guarantee a screening of the video on-site at the event. It merely confirms that the video meets the criteria and has been admitted to the judging process.
- During the event, the audience will have the opportunity to vote for the video.
- The winners will be announced during the closing ceremony of Anime Messe Babelsberg on Sunday.
- You are welcome to upload your AMVs publicly after the event. It would be great if you could send us the link afterwards.
- The prize money will be transferred to the winners no later than 3 months after Anime Messe Babelsberg. Please note that we only offer PayPal, IBAN, and SWIFT (fees may apply).
