The third part of the film series once again brings back the DigiDestined in their original cast, seventeen years after the first episode aired on German screens and drew fans under its spell. Older and a little more grown up, yet just as endearing as they were back then.
After Meicoomon's sudden transformation, the DigiDestined are left stunned, and Meiko in particular struggles with the loss of her partner. Izzy, meanwhile, does everything he can to track down the source of the infections and prevent any further ones. What he does not realise is that the danger has long since been in their midst.
Patamon is already showing the first signs of an infection, and out of sheer worry for his partner, TK cannot bring himself to tell the others the truth. It is at this very moment that Meicoomon reappears, more aggressive and more powerful than ever before. The Digimon come to understand that there is only one way to save both worlds, and they are ready to take it, even if it demands the greatest sacrifice of all from them.
