Ever wondered which fabric is actually right for your next cosplay? This workshop is all about understanding textiles – tailored specifically for cosplayers.

Since 2016, I’ve been designing and sewing my own cosplay costumes. Early on, I realized how much the right choice of fabric can affect the entire outcome of a project. Unfortunately, there’s little reliable guidance online or in hobby books when it comes to selecting the right materials – and that’s exactly where this workshop comes in.

I’ll be sharing insights from my professional training as a fashion and textile tailor, along with a modern take on materials and the fashion industry as it relates to costume creation.

What you'll learn:

• Fundamentals of textile structures, fiber types, and finishing techniques

• A close look at 8–12 fabrics ideal for cosplay

• How fabrics are made, what they’re made of, and what to use them for

• Tips on fabric identification and care

• Bonus: If time allows, I’ll bring samples of interfacing, specialty fabrics, and rare fibers

Please note:
This workshop does not cover sewing techniques, machine operation, or embellishment methods such as embroidery. It’s all about the fabric itself – learning to touch, understand, and choose the right materials for your projects.
