As part of the anime premieres of "The World's Strongest Rearguard" and "The Insipid Prince's Furtive Grab for The Throne", the two new MAHO FILM series, we are delighted to welcome the animator Ms Manami Inose to the Anime Messe Babelsberg 2026.
Manami Inose is one of those artists whose hand can be found in many series, even though it might not be obvious at first glance. As chief animation director at MAHO FILM she is responsible for both of the titles we are presenting in premiere at the Anime Messe Babelsberg 2026: "The World's Strongest Rearguard" on Friday, 17 July 2026 at 16:50, and "The Insipid Prince's Furtive Grab for The Throne" on Saturday, 18 July 2026 at 12:10, both in the grand hall and each followed by an autograph session.
A glance at her career quickly reveals the breadth of her work. On "The Legend of Bureaucrat Matsurika" she was responsible for the main character design, shaping the visual identity of the series. In productions such as "Blue Miburo", "Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra", "I'll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History" and "Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp" she handled the sub-character design, creating those figures around the central cast that give a world its real depth. Add to that her work as prop designer on titles such as "A Playthrough of a Certain Dude's VRMMO Life", "My Unique Skill Makes Me OP even at Level 1" and "By the Grace of the Gods 2", bringing to life every object, weapon and piece of everyday equipment.
A particular highlight awaits you on Sunday, 19 July 2026 at 16:20: as part of our MAHO FILM special, Ms Inose will draw live for you on the event stage, while Ms Yuko Oba presents her work as a director and chief animation director. Here you can watch Ms Inose at the very moment a sketch comes into being, gaining a rare glimpse into the creative daily life of a Japanese animator.
