A true double talent is coming to Anime Messe Babelsberg! As a voice actress, Cindy Kepke lends her voice to Zeta from "The Eminence in Shadow" and Reiju Vinsmoke from "One Piece", and behind the scenes she is also active as a dialogue book author and director. Cindy will be with us on Sunday, taking part in the anime voice actor panel and giving a signing session afterwards. [More info]

When the melodies of Studio Ghibli fill the room, carried by three cellos, piano and percussion, film music becomes something you do not just hear but truly feel. In 2026 the Cellotic Soundtrack Ensemble (CSE) brings exactly this experience to the stage of Anime Messe Babelsberg: instrumental reinterpretations of beloved anime, film and series soundtracks, from Ghibli classics through epic fantasy worlds to modern blockbusters. Hear familiar themes in an entirely new light, live and full of emotion, in the Festsaal on Saturday at 18:00 and Sunday at 10:40. [More info]

What is better than one anime premiere? Two anime premieres, of course! Following the already announced premiere of "The World's Strongest Rearguard", our friends from Studio MAHO FILM are raising the stakes for the Anime Messe Babelsberg 2026 and bringing a second hot title with them to Potsdam: "The Insipid Prince's Furtive Grab for The Throne", which we shall watch together ahead of everyone else and discuss with the animators on stage.
The second premiere takes place on Saturday, 18 July 2026, at 12:10 in the grand hall of the Metropolis Halle. Ms Yuko Oba and Ms Manami Inose will join us for the ceremonial first screening and will sign autographs in the session that follows.
The series is based on one of the most successful light novel franchises of recent years and takes you into the militarily dominant Aldrasian Empire, where the seventh prince Arnold is mocked as the talentless "drained-out prince". Behind that façade, however, lies a secret: Arnold is in truth one of only five SS-rank adventurers on the entire continent, steering the succession battle from the shadows.
